Our First Week at JAARS

Our New Temporary Home at JAARS...the Elim House
Loaded up and READY TO GO...Good-bye to PA

Cody was all ready with his goodie basket for our travels South
Our boys were super traveler the entire trip down to JAARS.  We left the Crawford's house around 7 a.m. and arrived at JAARS early evening around 6 p.m.  The first thing Cody wanted to see when we arrived at the house was his new room with the bunk beds.  Here are a few pictures....

Cody was thrilled with his new room....Bunk Beds!  The boys had so much energy because they sat all day...they had fun going up and down the ladder.  Yes, Joshua wanted to be like the big boys.
Cody wanted to sleep on the top bunk, but we felt he needed to wait awhile.  So he pretends it's his roof...each morning he's up there fixing the roof!  Cute!

Joshua got his favorite books out of the bag and climb in the bottom bunk!

The boys have already found a new hiding place....Cody called it his cave!  Joshua was so very tired from our long day on the road!  Jim says "looks like another set of bunk beds, hope we don't have to pay rent for a 4 bedroom house".
The Kitchen
One evening we took a walk around JAARS, Cody's little feet got so tired, since his bike was still on the trailer he walked quite a bit these past two weeks.  He can't wait to get his Bike tomorrow (Wednesday)!
We found a short-cut through the woods as we were taking our walking trip around JAARS!  It was so very hot that night too!  We were all drenched by the time we got back to the house.
On our Adventure walk we stopped by the Bread Drop and picked up a few items of bread.  The bread drop is a place where Panara Bread, Pepperidge Farms and Local Grocery stores drop off bread for donation to the staff of JAARS.

Our little helper!

The boys having fun with daddy...locking him in the Bread Drop!
Some of the sights of JAARS.  "Chrystal Lake".....we saw the lillies bloom this week!  Behind the lake are some of the Apartments that JAARS rent out to guest and staff.

Cody was so very tired of walking.....we were glad to get back to the Elim house to rest and cool off in our Central Air!  We are slowly getting used to the HEAT.

We have taken a few afternoons and gone swimming at the JAARS pool with our dear friends the Merkery's.  Cody and Trey get to see each other quite a bit these days since they both will be at the MK Station together too!  We thank God for the Merkey's friendship so very much!

Cody's Preschool Class at the MK Station

Cody went to the MK Station (Preschool) program on Tuesday August 2nd for the first time.  He was so excited when he woke up... "I'm ready to go to school Mommy"!  He loved it!  Joshua will begin going on Thursday once we start our ICC training.

Joshua and Mommy doing an Art Project together!

Joshua has been struggling with a cold/respiratory issues for about two weeks.  We took him to a clinic on Monday, August 1st and he's got pink eye...and a terrible cough.  He wasn't able to go with Cody to the MK School on Tuesday...so he spent quality time at home with mommy...we did coloring together and water play time in the sink.  My baby has grown up so FAST!

We are all doing well and slowly adjusting to our new surroundings.  We'll keep you posted in the coming weeks how things are going.  If you would like to find out our most recent updates...please check us out on Facebook.  Thank you for praying for our family...biggest prayer request right now is that we all would stay healthy in this month of training.  We appreciate every one of you and your faithful prayers!

  1. The house looks cute! It looks like you have a lot of yard space to play in and lots of scenery to enjoy at JAARS. Praying that Joshie feels better quickly and that unloading day goes well!
